U2410 monitors randomly resets custom brightness setting

Greetings all. I am using 3 U2410 monitors connected to two video cards in my Win7 Pro desktop. The monitors are 3 different ages and 3 different revisions.

I have been using an Xrite ColorMunki and an i1 Photo Pro 2 to calibrate the monitors for photo editing. I use the custom color setting and do a factory reset prior to each calibration. Part of the calibration requires lowering the brightness which I do using the OSD and control buttons.

It seems that after some random time period, the brightness resets to the default 50 value. I usually leave my computer on 24/7 although I do shut it off if I am going out of town. The monitors do not sleep but display the Win7 Mystify screen saver when idle. The monitors remain powered unless there is a power interruption at my home. The random reset of brightness has happened on all 3 monitors but not at the same time.

Any thoughts on how I can prevent this random resetting of the brightness level?

Hi tonyski,

Welcome to the Community.

I suggest that you should turn off the monitors when not in use. As you have mentioned that the brightness resets back to the default values on its own. I recommend you run an in built diagnostics on the monitor to identify if there is any failure on it or not. Bellow is the link that has the complete details for the error and how to run the diagnostics on the Monitor.

If no error found. Reset the monitors back to factory defaults and that shall fix it for you.

Thank you.
