I have the same problem as Limberlost. I have a PC connected via DVI and a Mac mini connected via HDMI. Whenever I switch from the PC to the Mac, everything looks sharp and jagged. When I go from Mac to PC, Windows looks blurry.
Like he said, the sharpness appears to be changed in the options menu but it doesn't apply itself to the screen. I have to manually go in to the settings EVERY TIME I switch inputs to "wake up" the sharpness.
This is not acceptable. I've searched Dell's site for a firmware update, but to no avail. Is there a fix for this issue, or am I out $550?

This feature is on all the U2410s. Anytime you change the Sharpness on one input, you must manually reset the Sharpness for other inputs.

Good news, fellow Mac mini purchasers! It seems the issue with the sharpness not being applied only applies if you're going between DVI and HDMI.
I bought a HDMI to DVI cable for my Mac mini from Amazon and switching between DVI-1 and DVI-2 works perfectly. Much happier now.
Here's what I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TH7T2U/ref=oss_product

Does calling this a "feature" mean there's no way to fix it? It's clearly a bug, and a very inconvenient one.
I experience the problem when switching from DVI to both HDMI and DisplayPort.
