U2410F - Black display
monitor serial number: CN-0F525M-72872-161-011L
revision number Rev A07
desktop/laptop: Desktop, Optiplex 980, but same prob when connected to any pc.
O/s: Win7
Using: Display port, but same issue when connected by VGA\HDMI\DivX
Full description of the monitor issue:
Monitor initial turns on Ok,.led's light up blue, you can access the menu.
After approx 30 sec the display goes black.
Power led stays blue, menu led's will light up if pressed.
The longer the montior is on the quicker it is going to a black screen.
I have tried the self test - works ok
i have tried factory reset - still same prob.
Any help really appricated.
* Was the monitor purchased from Dell or some reseller?

Are you saying that the out of warranty (June 1, 2011 - June 1, 2014) monitor NEVER turns off when running the monitor self test and BID (pages 39-40)?

Hi Chris,
No. The monitor wll go through the self test and display all the colour screens, but if you leave it on one colour long enough the display goes black - after about 20 secs.

Possible faulty internal component. Unknown. Most of the time, the cost to get an out of warranty monitor repaired locally outweighs the value of the monitor.
