U2413, Windows 8.1, X-rite version 1.5.3

Hello,

This is rather an early heads-up as a) Windows 8.1 is still not officially out and b) The release notes specifically do not list it as supported. Anyway, on 8.1 x64 Dell Ultrasharp Color Calibration Solution doesn't detect my display. It says the USB cable is not plugged (though it is). From the logs I see it reads the serial number then it says it failed to communicate with a display with serial number 0 (???). I tried running as USB 3/USB 2, admin, compatibility mode etc. but no luck. Hope this is fixed by GA time (or if you have tips let me know :-) In the meantime I'll get a 8.0 installation restored from backup where it hopefully works...

Regards,
Alexander

I have the same problem on the released version of Windows 8.1.  I have also tried USB 2, USB 3, admin, compatibility mode, etc., and also tried uninstalling all XRrite software and installing only the Dell Ultrasharp Color Calibration Solution, but it always gets stuck right at the beginning: Verify USB Connection.  It simply never sees the that the monitor is connected.  All devices attached the monitor's USB ports, however, work fine.

Did you install this version?

Version 1.5.3
Windows 7/8/8.1
Supports U2413/UP2414Q/U2713H/U3014/UP3214Q

Thanks, this version certainly works extremely well and solves the problem.  On the Dell support website, when I look at driver downloads under U2413 monitor for Windows 8, this version isn't listed.

Anyway, this works, although I don't see how to set the color temperature to anything other than 6500K.  Is that somewhere under the Advanced settings?

6500K is our default and should be used when calibrating. But you can open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). Go to Color Settings- Color Temp. You can choose 5000K, 5700K, 6500K, 7500K, 9300K and 10000K.

Hi,

I have the same problem as the other guys but the driver in your link isn't working. So i can't install my brand new U2413 because my Dell 7520 laptop can't see the USB connection. I tried all the USB ports but no result yet. And the driver i can download is an old one!

Thanks for the help

I'm having the same problem with a Dell 2713 (although the software that came with my 3014 works fine on that monitor--just not on the 2713.) Doesn't recognize the USB connection. The link you posted above, Chris, leads to a site that says "Demoted Driver." Is there a link to the latest version of the Dell Color Calibration Solution? Thanks!
