U2414H colors
I have the u2414h a03 for 5 days now. It is connected to my nvidia card using a hdmi cable. The dynamic range is set to full in NVCP. This is my first IPS monitor, was using a Samsung LCD for 9 years before that. My problem is that I'm not sure if something is wrong with the new monitor or I just have a hard time getting used to it. The colors look pale somehow.
Maybe the brightness is too low at default 35. If I set it to 50 it seems better but I get a headache from it. If I rise the contrast above 75 the light grey becomes yellow before it turns white at 100. The blue color is over expressed, even after reducing it to 88 in the custom colors preset mode. Not sure if the IPS supposed to look like that. After reading all those good comments about this display type and especially about this monitor I'm not impressed.
Or maybe the hdmi has to do something with it? Tried with a mini hdmi to hdmi cable, and a dvi to hdmi, but the results are the same. On my gtx460 there is no display port so cannot try with that.
On the old Samsung the colors are far from accurate but they look overall more rich and vibrant.
So far this monitor looks very good only at full screen movies or games, but I use it mostly for desktop apps. Any advise, should I try with a new graphic card? I don't want to buy a new gpu only to find out that the colors are the same with the display port.
Thank you.

You should reset the monitor to Factory defaults in the OSD (On Screen Display) -Other Settings page 44. Then test all modes in Color Settings- Preset Modes page 40. If still not good, you should consider calibrating the monitor using the X-Rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter and the DUCCS (Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration System) software.
