U2414H DisplayPort issues
Hi,
I have two U2414H that are connected to a MSI GeForce GTX 980. I just recently set them up in a DisplayPort daisy chain configuration. I am using the Dell provided DisplayPort to mini-DisplayPort cables. The first monitor in the chain has DisplayPort 1.2 on, and the final monitor DisplayPort 1.2 is off. The other day, after waking from power save, the second monitor would constantly turn on and go directly into power save mode. While in this state it was not detected by the OS. Rebooting the computer or turning the monitor off/on had no effect. I was able to get it back usable by unplugging the monitor's power cord and plugging it back in again. Both monitors were previously working without issue when connected with HDMI.
My second issue is the monitors will no longer go into DPMS sleep in Linux when connected with DisplayPort. The screen turns black, but the backlight stays on. Both monitors previously connected with HDMI turned off fine. The same displays also turn off correctly in Windows. I tried connecting just a single monitor with DisplayPort 1.2 off in addition to both monitors connected in a daisy chain. nVidia claims this is a bug in the monitor's firmware[1][2]. I'm sure Dell is just going to claim it is a bug in nVidia's DisplayPort implementation, but wanted to ask if anyone here had any kind of solution?

What are the 20 digit serial numbers and revisions?
Did you buy these directly from Dell?
An aside. What did you hope to gain by using them in DP/mDP daisy chain? The resolution is the same for HDMI and DP/mDP, 1920x1080. So why change from a working HDMI configuration? Just curious.

No. I purchased them from Newegg.

A few reasons. I upgraded my video card and my new video card only has a single HDMI output. I have a few HDMI devices (Raspberry Pi/ODROIDs) this frees up inputs for. Lastly, if I use a daisy chain, it reduces the cable clutter. It is only one cable, but every cable counts.

Manufactured on May 9, 2014. You need to initiate exchanges. Understand, the only way to get a monitor with the flashed firmware A03 is via a used/refurbished exchange.

Thanks Chris. Will my original warranty apply to the replacement monitor? Or will it be based on the manufacture date of the replacement monitor? Also, do you know if the updated firmware fixes the DPMS issue as well?

The first monitors warranty periods will apply to all exchanges. No idea about DPMS. That never appeared in any of the emails concerning this product.
