U2415, sRGB advice
Hello,
I bought a Dell U2415 approx. 6 months ago (July 7, 2020) due to it's 99% sRGB coverage. It is used with a Dell XPS 15 7590 (via HDMI), graphics cards are a Intel UHD Graphics 630 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. The laptop screen is OLED and there are awful issues with oversaturation and/or color banding (Dell has no fix at the moment). As a lot of my work is graphics and video for online use I bought the U2415 monitor to be more color accurate with my work.
I am very new to color profiles and have a very limited knowledge of this area so I was hoping someone could help me with these two questions?
1. Which preset mode on the screens built-in settings is the 99% sRGB coverage? The options are Standard/Multimedia/Movie/Game/Paper/Color Temp/Custom Color.
2. Would it be better to color calibrate the screen to sRGB using a calibrator? I've read that certain calibrators/software only work with certain monitors. Would anyone know which calibrator and software is best to use on a U2415?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

1-All. 99% means gamut volume intersection. It can be bigger in some parts.
"Standard" should be "factory calibrated" = white, grey & TRC, but all OSD modes should share same colorspace volume.
2-If you mean "make gamut exactly sRGB", cutting where it is bigger, it's very likely that you can't. AFAIK full saturation controls in CMYRGB are for better U or UP models, but check manual.
You can correct white in Custom mode, and grey using GPU calibration embeded in a custom ICC profile for screen.
With a custom profile you not need to have an "exactly sRGB" display in color managed apps, that app will read the custom ICC profile and transform RGB values in video or image to others RGB numbers in display that have the same color coordinates, latest Adobe Premiere for example.
With non color managed apps you will see R 255 & G 255 slightly more saturated than sRGB, but just a little. Not like thw issues you see in your OLED. For example Vegas is not color managed AFAIK.

Do not aim for sRGB TRC in grey, go for 2.2 power law.

Your monitor has not HW calibration features. Grey color & TRC needs to be corrected in GPU and for GPUs there are apps for every device.
Anyway it is adviced to get a device from Xrite i1d3 family and for GPU calibration use DisplayCAL & ArgyllCMS (GNU). In that family i1Studio Display is cheapest and WON'T work with HW calibration if you buy a widegamut Eizo CS or UP Dell model in near future. i1DisplayPro is faster, more expensive and work with HW calibration monitors. So depending on your foreseeable upgrade road in a few fears, but the more expensive or the cheap.
When you calibrate using GPU you may get banding as result. Some GPUs do not cause this... but with a laptop chances of suffering this are HIGH. If grey is good on Standard or Custom mode, maybe you just need to fix white on Custom OSD mode, without GPU grey calibration but without measurig who knows...
