U2421HE, USB Type-C to USB Type-A
Hi,
I have one question regarding the USB hub in the U2421HE monitor. Can I use the USB Type-C hub with a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable? Of course there will be no display signal, but can I use the USB ports?
Background: my current computer has only USB Type-A ports but I plan to buy a new one next year and I would like to use the single USB Type-C connection then.
Thanks and kind regards,
Thorben

@tanktoo Yes you can do that, in fact with some USB-C displays Dell provides a USB-C to USB-A cable specifically to cover your type of scenario. As you say, in that setup you'll only have USB data running over that cable. I'd also make sure you get a C to A cable that supports at least USB 3.1 Gen 1. I don't think that display supports USB 3.1 Gen 2, and very few systems support that on USB-A ports anyway, although some exist. But some C to A cables only support USB 2.0 since they're intended to be used primarily as charging cables, so watch out for those.
