U2520D, send out M3B103 firmware
Hi,
We have an office with around 800 pcs U2520D monitors and we now encounter USB-C problems with some of them. Further investigation learns that U2520D with firmware version M3B102 have this issue while U2520D with firmware version M3B103 do not have this issue and function 100% correct! So we need to flash the U2520D to the new version M3B103. Please send me both the old and the new version so we can solve our problems.

This is not possible. None of the U2520D firmware were ever released to the public as downloads.
The online U2520D Drivers & Downloads page never listed any firmware updates. It only offered the supported Windows OS drivers and the Windows OS supported DDPM (Dell Display Peripheral Manager).
The online U2520D Documentation page never offered a firmware update guide.
The only way to get the U2520D with new firmware is to go through Dell Technical Support and get a used/refurbished exchange. But, this is not possible if the purchased warranty has already expired.

wow! Problem is that the erraneous monitors with v.m3b102 are all manufactured in the periode march/june 2020 . The monitors that have v.m3b103 have manufacture dates from dec.2020. So all out of warranty. This issue seems typically to be a socalled 'child-desease' early after introduction. In dec.2020 dell already solved the issue by shipping the monitors with version 103. So why not release 103 to resolve the bug ? I see 104 is even released but only for apple mac and we have a windows environment.

The macOS firmware M3B104 was only reactively released back in 2021 so that macOS users could install the now end of life macOS DDM (Dell Display Manager).

well , so the bottom line is that we need to dispose of all v102 monitors while keeping the v103 monitors ?

If your company computers do not have HDMI or DisplayPort video out ports to utilize the U2520D HDMI in or DisplayPort in ports, then yes.

to be more specific : every desk is equipped with 2 x u2520d, the 2nd is daisy-chained with the 1st by DP. The 1st is connected by USBC to a laptop that is brought in by the employee. So we need to use USBC on the 1st screen.
Bad news, especially for the environment, that we need to get rid of half of the monitors due to a firmware issue while dell has the software-solution in hand. There must be a way. Maybe read the firmware-contents of a v103 monitor with a chip-reader and program it into the erraneous monitors ?
