U2713H, ghosting issue
Hi
I'm a 3D animation graphic designer. I bought two days ago the U2713H monitor. The monitor has a very strong ghosting problem, the issue is described here. Is there any solution to the problem?

I did what you said
I can see the ghosting particularly in motion such as i move Windows and images.
I can still see ghosting.
Dell's website says that it is a new model:

That U2713H was manufactured on February 24, 2014. So you purchased a 13 month old monitor. I hope that the store did not tell you it was new.
* Here is the User's Guide
* Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display) and reset it to Factory defaults
* Do you see this ghosting when running the Self-Test? It has text on it

It may be a new model, but your specific monitor is 13 months old. The store had it all this time.
Yes or No. Do you see the ghosting issue on the text when running the monitor self-test, page 62?

No.
I did the test requested and did not see a substantial Ghosting problem.
I shot video. You can see considerably green Ghosting Especially at the borders. The problem does not appear only at text but also photos and frames.

That ghosting is RTC/Oversoot issue and ALL non 4k GB-LEDs from Dell have this "issue" which is a "feature design" to get "X ms" response time.
All U2413, U2713H, U3014 have this feature, won't be fixed by dell, won't be fixed in firmware update. It is AS IS.
If it trully represents a problem, return for refund U2713H:
-get an sRGB 27" model (2k or 4k) from Dell, asus... They won't have HW calibration but unless your "output" is DCI-P3, their standard gamut (sRGB/rec709) will cover your needs.
-get an EIzo CX271/CG277 or a Nec MS PA272W (HW calibration software sold separatedly in EU)/ Spectraview PA272W (bets choice if going to NEC)
Second option allows you to HW calibrate to Rec709/DCI-P3 depending of your needs. If no DCI-P3 needed, IHMO Dell P2715Q or Asus PB279Q suits better youir needs if overshoot issues are not aceptable for your work.
If grey ramp (neutrality and a specific gamma) calibration is needed, best get an AMD GPU for these sRGB 27" since calibration must be done in GPU.
P.S. Even if return for refund your U2713H, keep the i1DisplayPro. It's the best non-lab colorimeter and unless you buy Eizo CG277 you will need it.

As always, yumichan makes good points. The Displays team stated that there are no plans to give the user the ability to turn RTC overdrive off.
* If installed, open the DDM (Dell Displays Manager)
* Click the tab Auto Mode
* For every application listed, change them to Standard
* Press the Menu button to open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display)
* Open Display Settings
* Highlight Smart Video Enhance
* Change it to Off
* Open Color Settings
Input Color Format = RGB
Gamma = PC
* Open Preset Modes and test each one, Standard, Multimedia, Movie, Game, Paper
* Exit the OSD

I've told you: It won't be fixed... it cannot be fixed.
I told you before what your options are if you cannot live with that overshoot issue:
-get a sRGB 27" 2k or 4k from Dell, or Asus or Benq. Dell P2715Q for example, no HW calibration, it should be done in GPU (better to have an AMD graphic card)
or
-get a premium monitor GB-LED like yours: EIzo CX271/CG277, NEC MS PA272W (which means more cost in software if you live in EU)/Spectraview PS272W.
and return U2713H for refund. These are your ONLY choices.
