The U2715H has the following video in ports =
HDMI/HDMI/DP/mDP

List all of the video out ports on the Radeon 4600 = ?

It is possible to use the Studio 540 onboard HDMI out port. But to do so, you need your original monitor connected and can boot up. You must boot into the Bios, go to Advanced- PnP/PCI Configurations. Change Init Display First to Onboard. Change Onboard GPU to Always enabled. Press F10 to Save your changes and Exit. Once out of the bios, turn the Studio 540 off. Disconnect the original monitor and its cabling from the Studio 540. Turn the U2715H off and connect the HDMI to HDMI cable from the U2715H to the Studio 540 onboard HDMI out port. Turn the U2715H on, then the Studio 540.

Chris, thanks for the replies. Would I be able to get the full 2560 x 1440 over the hdmi?

The 4600 has two DVI ports and one s-video out ( i think) I've attached an image of the exact card I have. The manual say it has "Displayport output support". If i need to switch out cards, which do you recommend?

Your video card cannot up-convert to DP/mDP without buying an expensive active converter box.

* Unknown but worth testing.

You should be able to go video card DVI out --> DVI to HDMI cable (not a converter) --> U2715H HDMI in.

But even then you are locked at a lower 1920x1080 resolution. Start a new thread here.

Title = Studio Desktop 540 video card upgrade

Body = I need a PCI Express x16 video card that will work with my current 350w power supply and also have DP out or mDP out to drive a 2560x1440 60Hz U2715H. Thoughts?

Thanks for laying it out. I'l make change in bios and see if that works before purchasing a new card.
