U2717D, Ghosting problem

Hello.

I am designer and I bought Dell Ultrasharp U2717D. When scrolling websites full of colors I get ghosting problem which is annoying and I can't accept it for a monitor like this for the price it has.

I even tried with connecting it with DP-DP cable and it seems a little bit better but still unacceptable.

Installed latest graphics driver (nVidia Quad K4000) and drivers of monitor too.

Any suggestions?

I am thinking to send back monitor and hoping that new one will work like it should (same model - U2717D).

Thank you,

Denis

The U2717D OSD (On Screen Display), page 35, has many options that you should test. First, go to Others and Factory Reset the monitor. Open Display. Change Response Time to Fast and retest scrolling websites. If still no fix, go back to Color. Test every Preset Mode when scrolling websites.

Thank you for help Chris.

I've done it all you recommended but nothing works. On Responspe Time: Fast there is even more ghosting problem, than set on Normal.

Since I am graphic designer the best Preset Mode for me is sRGB, but I tested on every Mode there is and I have ghosting problem no matter what I choose.

I even tested monitor on some other computers. There is a little bit difference but ghosting problem still exist.

Any more suggestions?

I am thinking to return monitor and because I want this model and give it a try one more time, I am afraid getting the same problem even if changing monitor.

Thank you,

Denis

You could return it for refund (if inside the first 30 days from the Dell invoice date). Or get a like for like model exchange. Then test the replacement to see if it also has the same issue on your computers. If it does not, then send the original back to Dell. If it does, I really doubt that two monitors would have the same fault which leads me to think that the monitors are not the culprit here.

Hi Denis

Did you managed to solve your issue?

Mine had the exact same problem.

Thanks.
