U2722D, onscreen menu control boxes randomly appear

Unfortunately this started to happen to my U2722D this week. I tried everything to no avail, so before I resourse to trash the monitor, tried one last thing, I opened the monitor and disconected the ribbon cable connecting the Small PCB that controls both the Menu Joystick and the power button, problem "solved".  Unfortunately, I dont have access anymore to the menu and effectively I cant turn off the monitor anymore with the power button. I can disconnect the cord but that can put a lot of strees on the Mainboard. So I control everything via sofware now, the monitor is just on stand by when I dont need it, so there you have it. Hope it helps someone.
