U2722DE, M3T104 firmware update fail
Has anyone managed to update the firmware on the U2722DE to the latest M3T104 version released in September? I wasted an hour this evening and am convinced the update is faulty as it gets almost halfway through then says flash erase error. To add insult to injury I now get an error every time my monitor starts saying “firmware update failed”.
I disconnect all cables apart from power and USB upstream. Found two different Windows 10 laptops to try to update but with the same error.
I tried unplugging the monitor for a few minutes, turning back on. Turning on and off the laptop. I even found an ancient Dell brick (very solid and heavy) from years ago and that was the same end result (so no one can say it only works with Dell hardware).
Any help or suggestions very much appreciated.

Finally after almost a year...!
I've updated my monitor's firmware with today's Windows 10 64bit version. (Next time I'd not update firmware unless it is required!)

I'm having the exact same issue (Flash erase error) with Dell U2722DE - M3T104 firmware update from M3T101. I have also tried unplugging/re-plugging, turning on/off the monitor, and still unsuccessful. I also tried using different ports (USB-C, DP and HDMI) with two different Windows 10 laptops and all were unsuccessful. Attached below are the logs:
Would appreciate any suggestions as well, thanks!

KSunday, like aerotop, upload the log files and provide the links. The U2722DE firmware update log file is found at = C:\Dell\firmware\U2722DE\log

Thanks Chris,
I just tried again using the USB-C with display on (previously I was using a USB-A->USB-C upstream cable). Same error messages with this too.
Looking forward to seeing what the team come back with.

I have two U2722DEs, one running firmware M3T102 DE and one M3T101. I was successful in updating to M3T104 from M3T102 but not M3T101. It looks like Dell needs to release a firmware upgrade that would allow a monitor to be updated from M3T101.

That’s really good feedback. Thank you!
I don’t mind updating to M3T102 first but I can’t find that version of the firmware online.

Thank you for feedback!
Would appreciate if Dell Display team could release the firmware upgrade to M3T102, Chris?

I had the same problem too - tried to update the firmware to the newest one using a Windows-Laptop instead of my MacAir M1 2020. Have you ever heard about problems connected to the Dell U2722DE and the MacBook Air? I have no chance to connect even the ethernet via the Usb-c to Usb-C connection. Any clues?

Some more details - when I connect the monitor with the MacBook Air and try to run the firmeware-update assistant, the assistant does't even recognise the monitor (what even the iOS does ...). Strange thing ...

Would be surprising if an intermediate update to M3T102 would help: my U2722DE was delivered with M3T102 and the update to M3T104 also failed.
Update via Desktop (HDMI, network, several USB devices connected) failed as well as an update via Laptop (only USB-C connected).
Btw: reason for update were issue with DP and my Ryzen 5 2400G, no problems with HDMI or DP with GeForce 1030

Please DELL-Cares, if you're able to provide the older firmware (* still an upgrade from my current), then we can confirm that it is indeed an issue from 1->4, and it can be resolve by 1->2->4.
Also, I'm not sure if I can take any more from the Dell support team. I've already had them insist that I try to upgrade using the firmware for my old monitor (the one that got replaced under warranty for this newer model). This insanity has to end.
Peace and love. Thanks.
