U2723QE, doesn't support volume control pass through

The Dell U2723QE (same as the 32" but 27" obviously) doesn't support volume control pass through from a connected computer, at least not a MacBook Pro 14". Which is ridiculous and unique to the Dell monitor. I've had other displays with audio pass through and was able to control the volume from the source computer.

So bottom line is the audio jack on the UXX23QE monitor series is completely useless unless you want to control the volume from the connected speakers.

My one cable connection has turned into two = USB-C to the display and 3.5mm cable to my speakers.
