U2723QE, switching between two inputs
I connected two 2019 MacBook Pro 16" laptops to U2723QE, and when switching the input U2723QE doesn't signal the laptops that the input is changed so the laptops don't update the display accordingly.
Configuration:
- U2723QE sits between two laptops: work laptop | U2723QE | personal laptop
- On both laptops, I use U2723QE as the primary display and the laptop itself as the extended display.
- When using USB-C1 the display looks like ...... [work laptop | U2723QE] [personal laptop]
- When using USB-C2+DP the display looks like [work laptop] [U2723QE | personal laptop]
Expected behavior:
- When switching input from work laptop to personal laptop, U2723QE should signal work laptop as if U2723QE is disconnected from the work laptop, so the work laptop will move the window which has on U2723QE originally to the laptop itself.
- The cursor should not be able to move into U2723QE since it is no longer available.
- Vice versa when switching from the personal laptop to the work laptop.
Actual behavior:
- U2723QE doesn't signal the laptops to update the display accordingly, so the window displayed on U2723QE originally remains on the display which is no longer visible.
- The cursor can still move into the area which is no longer visible.
Ask:
- Is the actual behavior by design?
- Can I change the current behavior to match my expected behavior so that when switching inputs U2723QE will tell laptops to update the display accordingly?
