U2723QE, two MacBook Pro

Hi, I have two MacBook Pro laptops, one for work and one for personal, connecting to the same Dell U2723QE. The first laptop connects to U2723QE with a USB-C cable using the USB-C1 port (with PD 90W) The second laptop connects to U2723QE with a USB-C to DP cable for the video using the DP port, and a USB-C cable for the data using the USB-C2 port. With the built-in KVM feature, I can switch between two laptops and it works fine. My question is that U2723QE charges the first laptop with Power Delivery so one cable does it all (video, data, and power), but for the second laptop besides these two cables I need a third USB-C cable for charging. Is that expected to use three USB-C cables for the second laptop for video, data, and power separately? Thanks.

I think you meant ='Is that expected to use three cables for the second laptop for video, data, and power separately?' The answer is yes. Any second PC connected to the U2723QE DP in port or HDMI in port via video cable will also need to connect the USB-C to A cable and use its own power cable.
