U2723QE, USB-C and DisplayPort issues
Very frustrated to find that my Dell U2723QE is no longer able to connect to USB-C Display Port, for apparently no reason. It powers on and tells me it is not getting a USB signal from my computer. I tried using my work computer and home computer, both of which run Windows 11. I didn't change any settings or make any updates - this happened one evening out of nowhere. I powered off the monitor and followed the restart/reset instructions in the manual.
I've also tried using the Display Port cable that came with the monitor, into a Thinkpad dock and that doesn't work either. I tried HDMI to HDMI into the dock, and that did not work. The only thing that HAS worked is HDMI direct into my HDMI in my work laptop, so I know the monitor still works. But I need this monitor to work with both of my computers, and my personal computer only has USB-C ports. I would have to use a dock.
I have had this monitor since September 2024. I can't believe that only the HDMI input is working.
Any ideas as to how to get the USB-C Display Port input working again?

* Remove the dock from the troubleshooting
* When only connected directly to the HDMI work computer via the HDMI to HDMI cable, do the Self-Test and Built-in Diagnostics pass? See pages 88/89.
* Turn the monitor off
* Disconnect every cable (including the power cable) from the monitor
* Press the monitor power button in for 8 seconds (clears any residual power in the circuits)
* Reconnect the power cable to the monitor
* Connect the USB-C to USB-C cable to the monitor and to the USB-C computer
* Turn the monitor on. Does it work?
* Turn the monitor off
* Disconnect the USB-C to USB-C cable from the monitor
* Connect the DP to DP cable to the monitor and to the DP computer
* Turn the monitor on
* Open the Menu--> Input Source
* Choose DP
* Exit the Menu. Does it work?

@DELL-ChrisM2
Thanks very much for the detailed instructions. The self-test and diagnostics work when connected directly to HDMI. The 8-second reset did not fix the problem.
[* 8-second reset]
* Connect the USB-C to USB-C cable to the monitor and to the USB-C computer
* Turn the monitor on. Does it work?
No, it still does not work after following this precisely. I purchased a new USB-C/DP capable cable (Thunderbolt 4/USB4, 40 Gb/s, 240W power delivery) in case there was a problem with the Dell cable, but both of the cables work with my other devices to send video. This seems like it must be an issue with the USB-C Port on the monitor.
I tried using the monitor source selection to test the options, but it still gives me the floating box that says USB-C cannot be detected. I also tried using the new Dell Display and Peripheral Manager, but if the screen is not connected (or if i switch source away from HDMI) then the app does not work. I don't have a device that has Display Port capability without the dock, so I can't test that port direct to computer.
Unless you have some other suggestions, I suppose I have to enter a ticket with Dell. Many thanks for your help.
