U2913WM, DP not being detected?

Hi everyone,

I just got my new U2913WM yesterday. It works great other then it says no display port cable when on the display port input. The monitor works fine with a DVI cable and my PC, but i get no cable error if I try to use a DP cable with ether the PC or Mac. I would like to get one of them to work with the DP cable as my Mac wont pick up the correct monitor resolution when using HDMI.

I have 2 computers, 1 PC and 1 Mac.
My PC has 2 DP ports and my Mac has 1
I have tried the cable in all 3 DP ports with the same results
I went out and purchased a new DP cable and still had the same issue.
I have tried turning off the PC, Mac, and the monitor and turned them back on again
I have also tried turning on and off the DP 1.2 setting in the monitors OSD

Can anyone think of anything else I can try? I am kind of at a loss at the moment other then to contact support.

I know this a really old post but I've just come across it while trying to solve the identical issue. There are TWO Display Ports on the Dell U2913WM, #4 is DP INPUT and #8 is DP OUTPUT. You want to plug the PC into the #4 DP IN nearer to the power cable. I realised this after 2 hours of tearing my hair out. Hope it helps someone, if not the OP.

Try to install - ftp.dell.com/.../ddmsetup1260.exe

and ftp.dell.com/.../DELL_U2913WM_MONITOR_A00_00_DRVR_16J9N.exe

Access your monitor menu and perform factory default and change in input mode to Display port.

Also consider updating your graphics card drivers to the latest one from the vendor's site like ATI.com / NVIDIA.com

Same issue here with 3 customers who bought this monitor.

Using a PC Dell Optiplex 790.

Works fine with only the monitor connect with displayport, with 2 monitors (2th on VGA-cable), won't detect the displayport-connected U2913WM in Windows 7 after reboot.

Installed the driver from DVD, then the DDmanager from DVD, starting the DDmanager i had a notification for an update and installed it.

After reboot i can't get the DVI, using a DVI-to-Displayport adapter

detected iff i also use a VGA connected screen.

Iff i use only the U2913WM i have to use the VGA also, DVI-DP does'nt seem to work very well most attempts.
