Are you using the U3011 at the factory default resolution of 1920x1080@60Hz. What port on the monitor and PC are you using? Have you tried other video out ports on the computer to matching video in ports on the U3011?

Thanks for replying. To answer your questions…

I'm using the monitor at the default of 2560x1600 (which is the default for the U3011) @ 60 Hertz

I'm using the monitor on a Macbook Pro from the Mini Displayport to Displayport on the monitor. There are no other out ports on the MBP.

Unfortunately not as I work as a individual freelance so there's nobody I could ask to sit in front of my monitor for an 8 hour day (and yep, I do take regular breaks)

It could just be that my eyes have been used to the 24" monitor and now the increase to 30 inches just needs to take a bit of time to adjust. At least that's what I'm hoping as I love the monitor otherwise!

I have not seen any other users of the U3011 report this issue. You might ask other apple users here about it.

I must have had HDMI 1920x1080@60Hz on the brain when I wrote that. Can you sit another person down in front of the monitor and check to see if they have similar symptoms?

These will work at 1920x1200 which is probably close to what your 24 was at, try that resolution first if your mac will allow it and that way you can push it a way just a little more and still see your font. (My eyes are going too !!)

Also try smaller windows so your eyes do not have to pan back and forth as much.

I also change my default background colors to grays where possible to help reduce eye strain from the whites

Just to follow this up. After around a month my eyes and nausia all went back to normal. I think it was such a huge adjustment going to a higher res and much larger monitor. All is good now though.
