U3014, Various problems

Hello there, I'm new here :]

I have bought an UltraSharp U3014 monitor about a year ago and have been having various problems with it since day 1 — even though I had no issue with my previous monitor and the same computer... well, until that other monitor died, of course :(

Now I at last decided to report these so that maybe I can get it replaced.

Here is a description of some of the problems I am confronted with...

A ) when the monitor has just been switched on, there is a possibility that, after a few seconds (typically less than a minute), and even though the computer is active as well as its graphics card (meaning none of these are in sleep mode), the monitor will...

A-1 : randomly switch to displaying a completely black screen. It may in fact also be any of the colors from the self test instead of black, but which color it is doesn't change when that happens (unlike self test)
A-2 : keep the DVI connector symbol in the top left corner, not making it disappear no matter how long I wait (this one is pretty frequent)
A-3 : just corrupt the picture with weird colors (doesn't happen very often)

B ) when switching to a different resolution, for example when running a full screen game that doesn't use the monitor's native definition, or when rebooting the computer, the monitor will almost always display a black screen until switched off and on again. That's the most frequent problem I'm having with it.

C ) the monitors' menus often became unresponsive when I used them (well, not that I use them that much anyway, but still...)

All those problems can be temporarily fixed by switching the monitor off and on again, but they are really starting to get on my nerves, in particular the one about going black when changing resolution/restarting the computer.

Can I get my monitor changed for one of the same model but with no issues, please ? :'(

The U3014 has a service tag number. You need to contact Dell Support France and have them troubleshoot with you. They will then ascertain the warranty period based off of the service tag number and setup a like for like monitor exchange. It will not be a New replacement. Per Dell policy, it will be a refurbished exchange.
