U3214Q 10 bit support
I would like to use 10 bit color on my new Dell U3214Q monitor, but so far am having absolutely no luck.
I am driving the monitor with a FirePro W9000 card, and have tried the card in two different systems, one Windows 7 x64 and the other Windows 8.1 x64. Driver version is 13.35.1012 (the latest at this time).
In all cases, enabling 10 bit color in the AMD control panel leads to a black screen on the next startup. If I connect a second monitor (a 24" 8bit monitor), then I see a desktop on that monitor.
I have tried DisplayPort 1.1a and DisplayPort 1.2 settings on the monitor and neither of these help.
Has anyone actually got 10 bit mode to work with this monitor?
In reading the forums, there is a lot of talk about monitor firmware revisions. How do I check which firmware revision that my monitor has?

The revision matters not. The UP3214Q Color Depth is 1.0737B (10-bit) in all revisions. 10-bit is "on" all the time. But the UP3214Q does not stipulate the usage of 10-bit. You need to have a full 10-bit end to end workflow to take advantage of it. This includes relevant applications, graphics card, and graphic card driver. Be sure to not use any video dongles. Test using our mDP to DP cable directly between the video card DP and the monitor DP.

Interesting.
Does this mean that this monitor is never going to support 10 bit color?
Is it possible to support 10 bit color with an nVidia card?
It is possible to support 10 bit color with AMD FirePro when using DisplayPort 1.1a mode (I tried this and it didn't work for me)?
Or perhaps HDMI?
Is this restriction going to be fixed in a later driver revision? I think I need to talk to our AMD FirePro contact...

From AMD = 10bit support is not currently available in our driver.

OMG...2400€ in europe and THIS behaviour...
Eizo Coloredge CG277 is out, is THE FLAGSHIP MONITOR:
-2560x1440,
-10bit
-full LUT3D calibration, more than 2 presets
-no "beta" Xrite color calibration solution
-full uniformity compensation mechanism <1dE ALWAYS
-no RTC
-high frecuency PWM (Dell 4k have 240Hz PWM like cheap LED monitors)
ALL OF THIS at 2100€ (official channel, not Eizo resellers)
I'm wonder why people bother to buy this dell 4k toys with 2500€ in their wallet...
I mean... 450-700 euro for U2413-U2713H with LUT3D callibration is worth a try... but THIS? NEVER
Have 2500€? BUY Eizo CG277
