U3219Q, KVM issue

Question

Dear All, I have a 1 year/9 months old U3219Q which is connected to my Dell PC with HDMI cable. My wired USB keyboard and mouse are plugged into the U3219Q downstream USB ports. There is an USB cable connected between the U3219Q upstream USB port (USB-B) and the PC (USB-A). The monitor's KVM is setup to Input source HDMI. This setup works.  Occasionally I connect my ThinkPad laptop to the U3219Q through a USB-C cable. Then I use the U3219Q KVM switch to set up Input source USB-C in order to use the U3219Q with the keyboard and mouse. It works. The problem comes when I disconnects my laptop, set the KVM switch back to Input source HDMI in order to go back to use the PC, the video works, but the keyboard and mouse do not work. The only method to make it all work again is to restart the PC. If I connects the laptop, the whole sequence repeats again. Please advise. Thanks.

Issue Resolved.

I would suggest resetting the USB Root hubs on your PC and ThinkPad and let me know if it helps.

Remove/Refresh the USB Root Hub
* Type Device Manager in the Windows search bar and launch it
* Open the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section of the device manager and locate USB Root Hub
* Right click on any instances of USB Root Hub and choose uninstall
* Reboot the computer and allow it to boot into normal mode and test

While the ThinkPad is still connected to the U3219Q and still using the U3219Q display, open the U3219Q Menu. Go to Input Source. Select HDMI. What happens?

Hi,

The monitor will switch to my PC showing PC screen, but keyboard and mouse will not respond. If I switches back to ThinkPad using U3219Q Menu, then the monitor will switch back to the ThinkPad screen and both keyboard and mouse will respond.
