U3225QE, macOS Tahoe 26.1, M2T102 firmware update failed
I bought a new Dell U3225QE. I’m using a MacBook Pro M4 with macOS Tahoe 26.1. When trying to update the M2T102 firmware (via firmware pkg or DDPM), I get the error: ‘The selected firmware is not for this monitor’. The monitor is connected to my laptop via USB-C, and DDC/CI is enabled. I've tried many things, but I keep getting the same error.

This is known issue and we from the Forum have escalated it. No solution to date.
Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private U3225QE Service Tag with them. This will in turn generate a unique support case for your unique Service Tag.
A workaround from other Apple user was to connect the U3225QE to a Windows OS laptop and run the U3225QE Windows OS M2T102 firmware update.
For the GHN notes =
* Did you try running the macOS M2T102 firmware update by testing all three of the MacBook Pro M4 Thunderbolt ports?
* If available, did you try running the macOS M2T102 firmware update using an Apple branded Thunderbolt cable versus the provided Thunderbolt cable?

I’m having the same issue. Spent hours with Dell technical support pretty much getting the runaround. One told me I need an upload cable, the other wanted me to re-install everything and then wanted to remote in (which can’t do on a mac - even after we spent an hour talking about this being a mac issue they said we should do it on windows). Just wildly frustrating for a new $1000 monitor that’s supposed to be designed with mac in mind. At this point I might ask a neighbor to borrow a laptop which is very weird.

Totally, I agree.
It’s truly an embarrassing situation. It’s ridiculous to have to buy a new cable for such an expensive monitor. I’ll need to borrow a Windows laptop from my workplace and test it with that.

The provided cables should work on any computer with Thunderbolt, USB-C, or DP (DisplayPort). Understood if the computer has the older HDMI, then yes, you will need to get an HDMI cable.
Workarounds posted by users =
* Connect a different Apple computer running macOS 15 Sequoia or older macOS
* Connect a Windows OS computer and install the Windows OS monitor firmware
