U3415W - Display Manager Problems

HI Guys

I am hoping you can help because at this stage I am about to pull my hair out.

I have the following monitor and its great except since I recieved it I have not been able to get the display manager to work once and constantly get the standard error message.

I have pretty much searched every forum, googled everything I can think of, downloaded & re-installed many times but its just not working for me.

Can somebody who knows what they are talking about please help me.

Thank You

James

* Be sure to check and install the latest display driver from the graphics vendor (AMD, Intel, Nvidia)
* Be sure that the monitor USB 3.0 Upstream cable is connected from the monitor USB upstream port and then to a USB port on the rear of the computer
* Remove the older version of DDM if installed and install the latest DDM
* Once installed, reboot the computer
* Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display) -Others
* DDC/CI should be Enabled
* DDM is not supported in DP1.2/ MST (Daisy Chain). Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display) -Display
* Look for DP 1.2
* Change to Disabled
* Exit the OSD and re-test DDM

Hi Chris

Thanks for your message.

I ve gone through your full list but still no joy.

Already had the lastest Graphics drivers, USB cable is connected, re-installed DDM again and I alrady had those 2 settings correctly in place.

Does DDM only work with certain setups or graphics cards?

At the moment I have the USB upstream plugged into an advanced Eport which is connected to a Latitude E7240. I have tried both the USB on the dock and also directly into the laptop just so see if it makes an difference.

What else could it be?

Thanks

James

Test the Latitude directly to the monitor, no Eport.

Latitude E7240 mDP out --> mDP to DP cable --> U3415W DP in

U3415W USB upstream cable --> Latitude E7240 rear USB port

Hi Chris

Yes that is now working so obviously the dock is the problem.

Ive just noticed that there is a new 3.0 dock that has been released, would I have to upgrade to this to make it all work together?

can you confirm if this should work?

Thanks

That I do not know. You need to ask the Laptop Video guys here. Also ask them if the current dock has firmware updates available.
