U3419W, unable to install driver
Hi Everyone, Appreciate the help in advance.
I purchased a U3419W Ultrawide Monitor second hand. Installed and set up just fine. Couple of days later I've had to swap for another one due to a fault. The 2nd one is fine BUT now I can't install the driver? The first one showed in Device Manager as Dell and was picked up in DDM. Upon replacing it however, it is now showing as a generic PNP monitor and not detected by DDM. Pictures show my troubleshooting
- Device Manager Showing Generic Monitor and using Update Drivers Hardware Manager doesn't help (Even if directed to the folder where the new driver is
- DDM showing no supported monitor attached
- Device Manager
- Dell Device driver Installer Showing Monitor Detected but no driver to install and folder containing driver files
- Tried right clicking the driver file itself and install - it says successful but nothing happens
Really appreciate any suggestions people might have. Would be good to use DDM with the monitor.
All the best,
Dan
Trying to install via Hardware Manager doesn't help (Even with uninstalling the generic Driver)
DDM is unable to detect the monitor
Now showing as Generic PNP Monitor In Device Manager
When running The latest driver from the Dell Website, it detects the screen but no driver to install
Manual Installation says successful but nothing happens

To receive assistance from Dell Chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live private chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag and all of your troubleshooting.

Hi,
Not under warranty as the service expired 2021. The hardware is fine I was hoping someone from the community might be able to help me with the drivers since I'm unable to replace the generic drivers thus unable to get DDM working

Can no one offer any advice? I think the dell driver is installed but not matched with my monitor so i can't re-install the monitor. Surely someone else has experienced this?

I can't believe i can't get any support for this. I may be out of warranty, but clearly this is a fault with the device driver detection software.
I'm at my wits end and can't get full functionality out of the monitor purely because the driver isn't working right. I always rated Dell products and its support but now i'm having second thoughts

It seems that the secondhand U3419W Ultrawide Monitor is not being recognized properly by your system, and the driver installation is not completing successfully. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Make sure that the monitor is properly connected to your computer and powered on. Ensure that the cables are connected securely, and try swapping out the cables if possible to rule out any issues with the connection.
Check if your computer has the latest updates installed. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your computer.
Uninstall the current driver for the monitor from Device Manager. Right-click on the monitor in Device Manager and select "Uninstall device." Make sure to check the box to "Delete the driver software for this device" and then click "Uninstall."
Download and install the latest driver for the U3419W Ultrawide Monitor from the Dell website. You can find the driver by searching for "U3419W Ultrawide Monitor driver" on the Dell website. Make sure to select the correct version of the driver for your operating system.
After downloading the driver, extract the files from the zip folder to a location on your computer. Then, in Device Manager, right-click on the monitor and select "Update driver." Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" and select the folder where you extracted the driver files.
If the driver installation still fails, try installing the driver in compatibility mode. Right-click on the driver installer and select "Properties." Click on the "Compatibility" tab and check the box to "Run this program in compatibility mode for." Choose the operating system that the driver is intended for, and then click "Apply" and "OK." Try running the driver installer again.
If none of these steps work, it's possible that there may be an issue with the monitor itself.
