U3419W, USB switching issues

I have the U3419W with the following setup:

- Studio XPS 9100 connect via DP and USB upstream (cable that came with monitor)

- Laptop connect via USB Type-C only

I have the logitech wireless receiver plugged into the U3419W for both my mouse and keyboard and can switch manually via shortcut key on monitor back/forth between the 2 with no issues

Two problems:

1) Auto switching between the two devices in PBP is too intermittent. Sometimes it will switch back/forth multiple times from one side to the other. Most of the time it just does not work.

2) Because auto switching isn't reliable, for the Studio XPS 9100 I have DDM installed and set a hotkey to switch input in the Input Manager

I can use the hotkey to go from Studio XPS 9100 to Laptop, but not back from Laptop to Studio XPS 9100.

Besides manually via the monitor shortcut key, how can I switch back/forth? I am unable to install DDM on the laptop because it is a work laptop.
