U3421WE, audio jack, speakers not working
Hello,
I've just setup my U3421WE monitor but unfortunately the audio output to which I've connected my external speakers doesn't get recognized by neither my laptop nor my Dell desktop. I've read through the forum somebody had similar issue and his case, unplugging the monitor full night was restoring the audio output. In my case it didn't help.
My desktop is connected to the monitor through DisplayPort and the special usb cable (the one that has kind of 2 socket in one end, it is not USB-C nor USB-A) USB-B ? Audio works ok on USB headset and Bluetooth headset. It is only the audio jack output which is not working. The monitor has been upgraded to the latest firmware.
Thanks in advance for your help !

I'll give another try by following strictly your instructions.
Would it be possible to have live session please ?

For now, disconnect the Laptop and all of its cables from the U3421WE.
See page 11 in the online U3421WE User's Guide for port numbers below.
This is how the desktop should be setup =
Desktop DP out port --> U3421WE DP to DP cable --> U3421WE #5 DP in port
Desktop USB-A port --> U3421WE USB-A to USB-B cable --> U3421WE #8 USB-B upstream port
Powered external speakers --> U3421WE #7 Audio line-out port
Then in the Windows operating system, right click the Speakers icon in the taskbar, click Open Sound settings. Under, "Choose your output device", choose the U3421WE.
