U3425WE KVM Thunderbolt 4 upstream port, external KVM switch issue
I connected my U3425WE Thunderbolt 4 upstream port to an external KVM switch (via USB-C to USB-A provided cable). Display video is connected via HDMI cable (to external KVM. It worked for a few days then it just stopped working to detect keyboard and mouse! Please let me know what I can do / check /reconfigure. I upgraded my monitor from U3417W. Thanks.

@DELL-Chris M
Thanks for your response. U3425W internal KVM supports only 2 devices using DP/HDMI for display plus 2 upstream ports (1 USB-C and 1 thunderbolt) for keyboard and mouse. I have more than 2 devices so I must use external KVM. Regardless, the Thunderbolt upstream port does not work until I updated U3425WE firmware and driver as Dell support engineer suggested. All my devices are happily connected now.
Excerpt from Chat session:
Hope you are doing good. Please help us with below details so we can help you further.
1. Please try to update monitor fimware and drivers using this link
2. Please help us with the video of the connections you have established so we can get more information and our engineering team can get exact cause of the issue.
3. Hard Power Reset the Monitor (not just standby)
This helps if it’s a soft USB controller crash:
Power off PC and unplug HDMI + USB
Unplug power from the monitor
Hold down the monitor power button for 30 seconds
Wait 60 seconds
Reconnect only PC via HDMI + USB-C to USB-A to port #8
Power on and test

Curious, why use the external KVM switch? For one or two computers, the U3425WE should have all of the needed ports by itself =
