U3818DW, DDM for macOS? #2
Just got overly excited to see there was finally a DDM for macs (been waiting since i got U3818DW) around 2 years ago - but after updating the firmware on the monitor to make sure all ready, I see that the MacOS version of DDM is only for a very limited number of monitors
Are there any other plans to extend the DDM access to more monitors, or is this another miss by Dell when looking to provide support for the Mac community?
Would be great to hear plans in the works
thanks
paul

The DDM software team has stated that here are no plans to create a DDM for macOS for any monitors released "before" those shown on the DDM for macOS 1.50.0.0039, "Compatible Systems".

Thanks for this - but this just confirms my fears - another miss by Dell to actually look after Mac owners who've invested in DELL products
Crazy that a monitor that is DDM compliant if you have a windows laptop, is not for macs. The monitor is obviously not the problem, but the software being built for the MacOS

Completely agree. Very disappointing news.

Going to be very honest if Dell does not release a firmware for Mac
for this monitor which I bought this year then it will be the last Dell
product I purchase. This is too expensive of a monitor to not support
it fully. It would be lazy to not release it as it's very close to the U3821DW.

I'm in the same camp as wanting support for the U3818DW and buying one this year. Actually, I have 2 of these monitors. The first one was initially used on Windows where I could use the DDM. It came up short for my personal Mac because of the lack of DDM support. I had held out hope there would be a Mac version. Then I needed a 2nd one for work computers because it was the only monitor with a large enough power supply for the MBP. I still had hope for DDM. Then a month or two after buying my 2nd one the 21 came out which you guys added DDM for. I would have waited if I knew that was coming out; especially if it had DDM support. Now I have a monitor that is less than a year old that has been dropped from being supported. I should have bought the LG monitor. Speaking of which there are newer ones that are cheaper than U3821DW. I would also have support.
