U3818DW, MacBook Pro power issue

I have a Dell U3818DW (latest firmware) and a MacBook Pro 15" (2018). They are connected with USB Type-C, so the monitor charges the laptop. Everything is fine, except that whenever I power off the mac (shutdown), after a few seconds / minutes it turns on again. I suppose the monitor keeps charging it and at some point wakes it up. Every time I turn off the laptop, I have to turn off the monitor too, or else after 1-2 minutes it is all turned on. This is especially annoying because I use a pc also on the monitor (on the HDMI port) and I cannot use JUST the pc, and turn off the mac, because it will continuously turn on. Anyone have any suggestion?

thanks

You can see on the U3818DW drivers page and also in the U3818DW User's Guide that the Apple proprietary hardware and operating system were never tested/validated by Dell. You should post the issue on the Apple Forum and see what other Apple users have done as far as Apple PC troubleshooting.

The only suggestion I can make is to disconnect the USB Type-C cable from the MacBook, then shut the MacBook off. While off, charge the MacBook using its power adapter. Then reconnect to the USB Type-C to U3818DW and power the MacBook on.

Alternatively, I would consider the u3419. Any information on possible issues with a MBP 15" 2018?

Has this problem been solved yet? I am about to buy this monitor, but of course not if it doesn't work with my MBP 15" 2018... Joris
