U3818DW, two, USB-C intermittent connection
Recently purchased a dell U3818DW monitor and it worked fine through the USB - C connection supplying both power/sound and video to the monitor. A few days in it stopped working and started flashing intermittently. It receives a signal from the USB-C and works for a few seconds then cuts out continuing this process of signal/no signal. I hooked the monitor up to the HDMI so i could look into this Issue.
Now sometimes it will work through USB-C for a day or so and then the connection issues will restart. I cannot find any triggering event but its usually when i hook my laptop back up after disconnecting it to take with me to school. It has also stopped working after the USB-C connection has been plugged into the monitor for awhile and has been working normally.
I've installed the latest intel graphics drivers.
Updated Windows
Installed newest Drivers on Monitor
Reinstalled firmware M3B103 for monitor
Disconnected cables and held power button for 10 seconds reattaching all cables
Laptop is a 2017 Razer Blade Stealth with i7-7500U
I got the original monitor replaced after i was unable to resolve the issue assuming that was the cause. The second monitor has the same issue. I'm assuming it's something with the way my monitor and laptop are communicating though the USB-C but am unable to figure out how to resolve the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The fact that two U3818DW have the same intermittent USB Type-C connection issues points to either the laptop or the cabling as the culprit. The laptop must be powered off, not in some sleep/hibernate, mode when reconnecting to the turned off U3818DW.
* Have you purchased and tested a different USB Type-C to C cable? Also, consider testing a TB3/USB Type-C to DP cable
* Did you post the issue on the Razer Blade Stealth forum? Perhaps they know of BIOS, firmware, or driver updates for that laptop?

Same here issue here. I have tried different computers and cables, no combination will resolve the issue. Had the monitors replaced by Dell and the issue continues.

I am also having this issue on my recent purchase. In my experience this may be related to power consumption. When I moved my DP input to the same power strip as the display and my USB-C input the connectivity issues started. If I powered off my DP input OR moved it to another outlet the USB-C connectivity issues went away.A clarification: it's not about the circuit the items are plugged into. But rather it's about the power draw of my USB-C device. Whenever my laptop CPU scales beyond 4 GHz the USB-C connection is interrupted. Almost immediately the connection will resume and my CPU will be in the 2.x GHz range before it begins to scale back up. Rinse, repeat.
