USB ports on U2412m monitors not functioning

Hi guys,

I was using my computer when the power tripped. Since then, my mouse and keyboard which were connected to the monitor via USB failed. I have tried to disable the USB drivers and re-enabling them again but it does not work.

I have also checked that the mouse and keyboard are both functioning.

Anyone can post their experience or advice?

Thanks

Hi Coburn,

There is a USB cable connected from the back of your computer to the back of the monitor. Please ensure its connected properly. You may try reseating it from both ends. Alternatively, try swapping with an alternate USB port on the system.

Since, you have already tried disabling and re-enabling the USB drivers, I would suggest you to uninstall and re-install the USB Root Hubs from Device Manager.

  • Expand ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’
  • From the list, look for ‘USB Root Hub’
  • Right click, choose ‘Uninstall’, choose ‘Ok’
  • Uninstall all ‘USB Root Hub’ listed
  • Wait for all the drivers to get uninstalled
  • Restarted the computer
  • Restarting the computer will install ‘USB Root Hub’s automatically on the computer

If you are using a Dell computer, you may try to update the chipset driver. Click HERE, type the service tag of your computer -> choose the operating system ->expand Chipset to download and install the driver. Please refer to the U2412M manual for more information.

Hope this helps.
