Using Multimedia Mode On 2007WFP
Will there be any updates to fix the banding issue in the other modes other than Desktop? I have spent hours trying to get the best image quality out of my monitor and was pleased with the results, until I tried the Multimedia mode. Webpages are much more vibrant, text is much easier to read and colors were a lot more accurate. Switching back to Desktop mode is disappointing after using Multimedia mode and I just can't get Desktop mode to look as good no matter what settings I change.

No updates around the corner as if Dell will tell us ahead of time.
If there are any updates in firmware they will creep into the mainstream and someone sooner or later will write about it here.
Two more dither options probably would have solved the Multimedia and Gaming banding issue but there is a speed and color trade off with the chips used themselves and banding can get worse in those situations. Some monitors, usually high end high priced, have several soft dither options like the one implemented in the 2407 A03 update that almost totally eliminated banding in Desktop mode.
In my opinion I don't think we will see any more firmware updates and if so you have to exchange and will get someoneelses refurbished old monitor. I won't be doing that at all. I have 3 2407's with no dead pixels and not given them up.
I use Multimedia mode for HDTV from ATI card and DVD's, it' O.K., but not as good as it could have been if properly engineered in the first place..
We will just have to wait for new models and read the users reviews.
Good day:)
