Variable Image Quality

Question

Hi,   I recently noticed that my monitor was acting funny. The image quality tends to get worst ( blurry, out of focus a bit) after a while but gets backs to cristal clear definition when I open another page or program. Does anyone have a clue of what might be the problem? I have an old PC but still do a good job.   Dimension LC433 Monitor: Dell M781P Intel 810 chipset

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Here are some things to try and resolve the issue with the monitor.

Eliminate video extension cables.
Perform monitor reset (Select "Reset" in main menu).
Select "Moiré" from advanced controls and set H & V Moiré at 0%.
Decrease brightness & contrast controls
Lower video resolution or increase font size.

Thanks for the reply. But what do you mean by elimainate video extension cable? I have tried the orther solutions, and I didn't see any improvements. What else can cause my problem, the mother board? FYI I ahve already try another video card and the problem is still there.

How old is the monitor ?  Might be on its last leg...A longer cable will degrade the signal a bit, I believe that is what the moderator is asking.
