Variable Image Quality

Hi,

I recently noticed that my monitor was acting funny. The image quality tends to get worst ( blurry, out of focus a bit) after a while but gets backs to cristal clear definition when I open another page or program. Does anyone have a clue of what might be the problem? I have an old PC but still do a good job.

JUMING,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Here are some things to try and resolve the issue with the monitor.

  • Eliminate video extension cables.
  • Perform monitor reset (Select "Reset" in main menu).
  • Select "Moiré" from advanced controls and set H & V Moiré at 0%.
  • Decrease brightness & contrast controls
  • Lower video resolution or increase font size.

Thanks for the reply. But what do you mean by elimainate video extension cable? I have tried the orther solutions, and I didn't see any improvements. What else can cause my problem, the mother board? FYI I ahve already try another video card and the problem is still there.

How old is the monitor ?  Might be on its last leg...A longer cable will degrade the signal a bit, I believe that is what the moderator is asking.
