W2600 Refresh problems with DVI input? Need help!
Hi,
I use my HTPC (with an ATI X800) on my W2600 trough DVI: this is working just fine in the desktop.
There's only one problem: there seems to be a problem with the refresh of the screen when I watch video or playing a game, it's very annoying.
It looks like the screen has problems handling the speed of the signal and short shifts are viewable, especially in the middle corner the screen when things are moving fast in the movie / game.
(like the picture is cut in two)
I had this very same problem with a totally different PC, with another videocard (Ati 9250) while emulating console games or playing PC games. (only enabling the V-Sync in the emulators could arrange this issue a little bit in some cases)
Final note: this issue is not present when watching TV trough the internal tuner of the W2600.
What can be the problem here, is my W2600 not suitable for a PC?

Not... really. :smileysad:
It looks like it has a Response Time of 25ms, which is on the very top end of 'acceptable' for gaming. While that makes it decent for a PC monitor for most kinds of daily use, it seems to be an HDTV first and a gaming monitor a distant second.
Take this with a grain of salt, as I don't own one, never played with one, just going by the product specs and what you've posted here. It sounds like you've got a fairly high-end pc and a nice video card, so I would think that should mean it wouldn't have a problem pushing information to the screen fast enough.
It may also have something to do with this: "DNXTM by Pixelworks video processing technology for crisp, clear images with fast-paced action video" which is not something I'm familiar with. :smileyindifferent:

Keep in mind the fact that the 1905FP is a monitor, designed to work on a pc. The W2600 is a Television which can be hooked up to your pc. :smileyindifferent:
The DNX technology I mentioned (TM was a 'trademark symbol' before it got pasted here) is something built into the W2600.
Let us know if the VGA connector makes any difference...
