Warranty problem with 2001FP

Question

I have a 2001fp monitor, and it has about a 2inch vertical blue transparent  line through the screen while on.  This starts after the monitor has been on for over 20 minutes.  I have tried changing the DVI cord, using a different input source, and the line is there no matter what I do.  I bought it of ebay about 2 years ago brand new and don’t have any order information on it so I am having a nightmare of a time trying to talk to service.  The manufacturing date on the back is April 2005 so it should still be under the 3 year warranty.  What can I do?   Anyone? Chris? Am I just out a $400 monitor because I don't have the name of the person who bought it even though it is still under the factory warranty?  If so that stinks :smileysad:

mittman84, We must have the original Dell order number to confirm they bought a warranty.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that all 2001FPs came with a standard 3 year warranty, is that not correct?  If it is not, then I totaly understand.

mittman84, Resellers buy pallets of monitors with no warranty. That is why we need the Dell order number.

Ok, makes sense now.  Stinks for me, because I remember that mine was under warranty and even had the piece of paper 2 years ago, but no idea where it is now.  I have contacted eBay to try to find the persons name, but they are no longer registered there and I haven't heard back from eBay in almost a week, so I am not holding my breath.  Thanks for the clarification.
