Warranty Status Check

For computers, I always go to this page to check the warranty status:

Is there a similar page for monitors, where you could enter a serial number and get the warranty status?  If not, where can I put this in as a suggestion?

Thanks,
Doug E.

eck7474,

No, there is not a page. The monitor warranty is not just based on the monitor PPID number.

* A monitor purchased with a computer before 12/12/2005 has a 3 year warranty based off of the 20 digit PPID number or uses the longer computer warranty (4/5 year).

* A monitor purchased with a computer on/after 12/12/2005 uses the length of the computer warranty (90 days, 1 year, 2 year, etc) regardless of the PPID number.

* A monitor purchased by itself has a minimum 3 year warranty based off of the 20 digit PPID number.

I've seen that message before, and I'm sorry to make you repeat the information.

My point comes from the fact that I've used tech support several times on monitors and each time am asked for the serial number.  Sometimes they go on and I get my case# and dispatch #.  Sometimes they say "That monitor was not shipped with that computer, and that monitor is out of warranty".

If they can tell what computer a monitor was shipped with based on serial number, it would seem that this would give them the warranty status of the monitor as well.  And, as you said, if it was sold by itself or before a particular date, it goes by the serial number anyway.

Understand where I'm coming from?

There is no such a page, but you can ask Chris directly for warranty status check. He is amazingly helpful.
