WD19 Docking Station with Surface Pro 7 resolution issues

I am using a Dell WD19 USB-C dock with the latest firmware (updated today to 5.04.06).  When I use the dock with my Dell laptop it works fine, however I also use a Surface Pro 7.  With the Surface Pro 7 hooked up I get a maximum resolution of 1680x1050, but the native resolution of my Dell monitor is 1920x1200.

Since the Dell WD19 dock works correctly with the Dell Laptop and Dell monitor, you should post the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 issue on the Microsoft Surface Forums. That way you will get assistance from other Microsoft Surface users.

well it is more of an issue with the dell docking station.  You see my employer is considering using the dell dock as a universal dock, but at the moment it doesn't work very well with the surface pro.  If Dell doesn't provide that kind of support that's fine.  In my mind it should work... I seriously doubt I'll get Dell dock support in the Microsoft forums (LOL).

Did you ever find a resolution to this issue?

See my situation which is somewhat similar

Issues with the WD19 were generally resolved with firmware updates (which are prickly to automate across the enterprise btw).  We ended up mainly adopting the Dell Docking Monitors and don't experience too many issues with either setup.  We have also tested with Surface Pro 11.

Occasionally I had my screen flip on my Surface Pro 7 when connecting to the Dell Dock--annoying but easily fixed.  I'm not sure why it happens, but it isn't consistent, so once in a while I get a sideways screen on the Surface itself.  I also find that the Surface Pro 7 performance is sometimes poor with two displays--I guess it drives the cpu/gpu harder and then the passively cooled thermal throttling kicks in.  This is a Surface Pro 7 i5 issue and does not happen at all on the Surface Pro 11.

Charging seems to be okay, but when the device charge level is way low (like after a long vacation), the official microsoft charger is required to wake it up.
