Weird problem when changing resolution on Dell SE2717H

This happens when either resoultion or refresh rate of the monitor is changed. Only turning the monitor off and on helps get rid of it.

I have this problem on both Nvidia and AMD GPUs and with generic and Dell's monitor drivers.

What input are you using on the monitor (vga/hdmi), and also does this happen on both of these inputs? I know you also mentioned you tried both Nvidia/AMD cards, but when you swap them do you use the same cable/input type (you might have answered this from my first question, but just in case)? Also, are these cards both on the same system?

And lastly, what resolution and hz are you changing the monitor to  when this occurs? And what was the reasoning to do so? I mean it looks like there might be something wrong with the cable/monitor etc.and regardless it shouldn't be doing this so we will want to find a solution, but I highly recommend running LCD monitors at their optimal resolution to get the best performance out of them.

Best regards,

Brad

I tried two different HDMI cables and also VGA. Both GPUs are on the same system.

I'm on 1920x1080@75hz, but some games change refresh rate or resoultion on launch which causes the problem. It also happens when a game goes fullscreen or sometimes even when I just turn the monitor on. It's really annoying.

And also, changing desktop refresh rate to 60 or using Freesync doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks for the updates, and sorry to hear that nothing worked differently. I would try this link here for troubleshooting this monitor and to run the diags on the monitor to see if it says anything, maybe even try resetting the panel to defaults. And then if nothing works I would recommend seeing if you can exchange the monitor. Here is a link for an FAQ on the steps.

I will be out until January 3rd, but if you post any updates I will try to respond when I am back.

Best regards,

Brad
