Creating a Schedule

On Networker 7.6 I am attempting to create a new Schedule however I haven't figured out how to do it.

What I would like to do is create a schedule that does a full backup on the first Tuesday of every month and a couple of minor tweaks to incrementals every night based upon the Day of the Week.

I seem to be able to create a schedule that I can Manually create, or one that will do it on the day of the month, but not day of the week.

There is a sample schedule for Fridays and I used to have a schedule like this on an older version of Networker that worked well for my environment so I know it used to be doable, I just can't figure out how without manually doing it.

Thanks

Hi,

you may wish to do the following:

On NMC go to Schedules

Right click and select New

Create a schedule "First Tuesday on month"

Click on a Sunday and select Set Level, then Incremental.

Click 'OK'

Right click on any Schedule and select "Show as Calendar"

Select the new Schedule

In the Overrides field type: 'full 1 tue every month'

Click 'OK'

That's it.

Hi,

You can toggle between "Week" or "Month" Period to do that (i.e.: Week for all Mondays, Month for specific Monday)

This is not working for me.

For example, if I set up a schedule with a month period and set fulls to occur on the first Tuesday in December (Tue - Dec 6) then look to January, the First Full is on Friday Jan 6th.      So the month period is for day of the month not day of the week.

Hello,

Would you like to set Full backup on the first Tuesday of every month and Incremental backup on all other days?

If so, please use the below method:

  1. Create a new schedule.
  2. Keep the period as a week.
  3. Click on a Sunday and select Set Level, then Incremental.
  4. This will set all days to the level Incremental.
  5. Click on the first Tuesday of the month and click on the Override Level button, then Full. This will change the schedule so that the first Tuesday only will be a level Full.
  6. Go to the next month, click on the first Tuesday of the month and click on the Override Level button, then Full.
  7. Perform steps 6 for as many consecutive months as you require.

Regards,

Tim
