Netoworker Client not installaing
Hi
We have Windows server 2003 R2 SP2 in our environment and we use Networker 7.6.1 to backup these servers. In one of our production server the networker client got corrupted. As it was not uninstalling through Add Remove program so we have uninstalled it manually by deleting entries from registry and program files. Now when we are trying to reinstall the Networker client 7.6.1 it is not installing. It is giving error like setup has encountered a problem. We have tried to install the Networker 7.4.2 client. But it gives an error "Internal error 2753. sselect.exe".
Please help to rectify the issue as the server has been not been backed up for last two days.

I believe sselect.exe is used to update to server file. Are you trying to update server file perhaps? If yes, try not to.
But can you expand what exactly happened? How did you come to the point that NW client got corrupted in first place? Usually binary corruption is not isolated to single application which may indicate that some other parts of system (including system itself) might be affected (affecting installation procedure). Did you try to restart machine since this incident? It looks as if in both case MSI installation might be affected by something so reboot might be 1st step, but understanding what happened and what has led to it would be even better.

Hi Hrvoje Crvelin,
Thnaks for your reply.
No, I did not try to update the server file I am just trying to install it but double clicking on setup.exe and so on.
Actually our backup team informed us that backup is failing for this server and when we tried to restart the NW service it is not restarting. So we tried to reinstall it. But as it is not uninstalling from Add-Remove program we tried to uninstall it manually. I have rebooted the server once but no luck. I have attached the screenshot of Networker 7.6.1 installation error.

Another idea would be to run the install in logging mode so there is a log to look at once it fails. Also, an MSI cleaner would not be a bad idea to clean-up old stuff…

Hi AllanW,
I can find that there is logging option available if we install from msi. But if install it from msi from command line NMM config checker is also installing.
Is there any logging option available with setup.exe?
