nsrexecd: Failed to authenticate
I'm backing up an xp client with St Bernard's Open File Manager installed. I get the error:
nsrexecd: Failed to authenticate user with GSS Legato authentication User: SYSTEM, domain: NT Authority
nsrexecd service is running as system on the client and the Open File Manager is running as domain administrator. Backups still work but this error appears about 7-8 times with one backup.
Any help would be appreciated! Karen

We ran:
nsradmin -p nsrexec -s clientname
print type:NSRLA
update auth methods: "0.0.0.0/0,oldauth/nsrauth"
Reversing the order makes no difference and unfortunately since the change, which I have rolled back I can no longer back up the client. Any ideas? Thanks

- uninstall existing version
- delete nsr directory
- install it again
That should start backups again.

I would suggest restarting the client service first of all and see if that still gives issues; if that does not work follow Hrvoje's suggestion to reinstall the client software. If that does not work there is a process on p568 for exporting the authentication credentials which might work; however you are using both old and new authentication so it should work even if nsrauth is failing.

My nsrla.res and the one in the manual have oldauth and nsrauth the other way round - not too sure whether it will work like this (which says use the weaker old authorization first but if that fails use the stronger nsr authentication - it would be interesting to see if you have a failure for oldauth prior to the failure for nsrauth).

Backup client - OFM is not related.

To clarify:
I had successful backups with OFM including open files but got a GSS error
The order of auth was changed, backups failed.
If I stop OFM service backups work, don't get a GSS error but no open files backed up.
Haven't reinstalled networker client but will suggest to EMC support.
The help is appreciated!

Interesting - I didn't expect this at all (GSS vs OFM). Thanls for sharing this. Keep us updated with what happens.
