As per this error message it looks like problem with Hypervisor resource. Please verify hypervisor user name and password.

Also verify if this is happening for other client restores as well.

On NW release notes, i see issue number : NW136650, which shows similar issue. This is fixed in Networker 8.0.

I think that is the reason, engineer is suggesting you to upgrade NetWorker.

https://support.emc.com/docu41459_NetWorker-8.0-Release-Notes.pdf

Page number  22.

I have not tested this yet.

I will be able to suggest you more after testing.

Hi Prajith,

Thanks for your response.

No we do not receive this error with windows vm guest save set restores. – windows save set restores work perfectly

The gui would crash when I try to restore the Linux guest but does not crash when I restore windows guest

I then tried to upgrade the storage node to 8.0 and that’s the error I received for both windows and linux guests

the support person who assisted me advised that I should upgrade the NetWorker server to 8.0 as well.

Do you think this would help ???

Regards

Umraan

Hi Kham,

Do you have it with Networker 8.0 on the server and proxy host as well ? Also what is the vsphere version you had ?

Please open a new thread with more details.

Thanks,

Ahmed Bahaa

Hi Kham,

Version 8 did not solve my issue, and EMC could also not find the cause in enough time for me to restore the server at a new site

we did find an alternate way to move the server from the old site to the new site – by vmotioning the server to a micro-server and then shipped the micro-server to the new site

Umraan

Hi Ahmed,

Just upgrade from release 7.4 to the last 7.6 + All Cummulatives Hofixes .... haven't try to upgrade to release 8.0, but i don't think this could solve the issue, since Umraan have already done this and the issue is still ...

Thanks

Kham
