Windows Client 7.4 Restore Errors - can't find networker server

Question

All, I have a couple of servers that when I load the networker user client, are unable to find any networker servers. I have verified from the networker server that I can telnet to the two ports 7938 and 7937 on the client. It looks like the forward and reverse lookups are correct too.

The backups are running fine - I get reports that data is being backed up.

There is a log file on the client - daemon.raw that I found that has a lot of %s errors. I'm thinking that maybe I'm missing some configuration parameters on the server side that allows restores to take place.
I was unable to find any networker doc on powerlink that has any info on what the %s parameter might be.

I guess my first question is - when running the networker client 7.4 from a windows box, how is it going out to find the networker server - broadcast?. During installation, the clients have all been finding the server.

If you check error message guide you will find:

Type: Notification
Source: nsrd
 
Description: The specified user is not included in the specified computer¿s Remote Access list.
 
Resolution: Complete one or more of the following tasks to resolve this error:
◆ Include the user¿s name in the format user@computer_name in the Remote Access attribute of the specified computer¿s Client resource.
◆ Verify that all aliases exist in the appropriate host or DNS files and the Alias attribute of the Client resource.
◆ Ensure that the fully qualified domain name, as well as any short names or aliases, are included in the Remote Access attribute.
◆ Temporarily add *@* to the Remote Access attribute.
 
Note: This will enable anyone to connect to this computer. Delete the *@* entry from the
Remote Access attribute after the requested operation completes to reestablish system security.

Broadcast is one thing. It is also supposed to look into servers file. What you can do to use -s parameter and point it towards backup server (recover -s or winworkr -s ).

Now I'm getting an error that says that no networker clients can be found on this server when I click on the directed restore option.

Permission issue probably. For directed restore you need to enable that through permissions settings.

I'm so close now, I can taste it!I'm able to select files and start the restore of a directory, and now, what I'm hoping is my last issue, is that I'm getting the following error:1749:recover: Permission denied, user A does not have the 'Remote access all clients' privilege to perform remote recoverIs this an AD rights issue where I need to get with my AD guy, or is there some weird place in the client configuration on the legato server side where I need to enter a username.
