Replace stack member. Dell 6248
Hi!
We have a stack of three Dell Powerconnect 6248 switches.
One of the switches has to be replaced with the newer one (same model).
the well-known "pwcnt_stacking_switches.pdf" document doesn't tell how to replace a stack member,
just how to add additional switch, or to remove one.
In the documentation For the powerconnect 3524 switches it is said :
Exchanging Stacking Members
If a stack member with the same Unit ID replaces an existing UnitID with the same Unit ID, the
previous device configuration is applied to the inserted stack member
Does same apply to 6248? Will this approach work?
How can a standalone switch be prepared to be added to the stack as some particular unit number (besides setting stack-port to stack mode)?
is it
(conf)#switch renumber
?

Yeah, suppose i'm replacing unit number 2. (out of three)
Once i remove old unit 2 and insert a new one, the new switch will get UnitID=4.
After I renumber it using
switch 4 renumber 2
will it get all port configuration that was previously assigned to old switch 2?
