STP usage on MLAG Peer links
Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help clarify this for me
We are using MLAG setups for the first time, we are using Dell N3000 series switches and have noticed that:
Endpoints which are multi-homed and setup according to the newest docs (one ethernet connection in each peer switch) only communicate if I disable spanning tree on the peer link port channel.
The only documentation I can find says the following:
March 2014 - disable spanning tree on the peer link
September 2016 - enable spanning tree on the peer link and DO NOT disable.
If I have spanning tree enabled the setup does not work.
Is there any reason why I would need spanning tree on?
Cheers
Andrew

Hi,
No you shouldn’t need it on if there are not any loops.
