VLT using 2 cables to FortiGate
Hello,
I have 2 x S5224F-ON switches and a FortiGate 100F. (The FG100 has 2 x 10Gbps SFP ports)
I know more about network concepts than the actual nuts and bolts so please bear with me. A while ago I had a network engineer look at setting up redundant links between the switches and then use LACP or the likes to create a redundant link to the FG100. It never worked and a year or so on, another engineer looked at the issue and discovered these switches don't do LACP, instead they use VLT. The same engineer then informed me it would be impossible to setup VLT between the switches and the FortiGate as it would require 4 cables and there is only 2 ports.
Can anyone point me to documentation that would support this or just tell me this is how it works?
Many thanks
