x1026P Advanced menu password

I have a x1026P that failed to come up correctly after a power outage.   I've done everything I can think of to get it running,  but it wont come up due to "HOSTP_flash_operation fatal error during erase operation" (Yes I'm connecting to the switch via serial comms).  Everything I read says that after trying to reload firmware and erasing flash file that I should go into the Advanced menu Ctrl + Shift + 6 to do a Format Flash.   The only problem is that its asking me for a password when I do the ctrl + Shift +6.  I know its some special Dell password and not the password I set on the switch.  Anyone have any ideas how to fix?  Or does anyone have that Advanced Menu Password?

Thanks in advance, really appreciate any help anyone can give.

Hello,

To answer your immediate question regarding the password, there wasn't one I could find.

I was looking at the marketing material for this model switch and it looks to be a relatively new model. If you want to message me with your service tag, I can check the warranty. Fair chance that if it was purchased with one that it could still be active, and that would make resolving this an awful lot easier.

Finally, what you can safely try is an xmodem transfer using option 1 in the boot menu (provided it works). If that fails for whatever reason and references the flash again, it may end up needing replacement.

I've already tried the Option 1 and tried the latest and the last 3 firmware versions just to see if it would make a diff.

My Service tag doesn't show up when I tried to look it up online, I bought the switch on ebay a few years ago, but the

There were a few posts in the community from about 5 years ago asking a similar question about a different switch model and someone was able to email them the password.

I know this is just a shot in the dark, since I know the switch is not under warranty of any kind.

Do you have a link to any of the threads where someone offered said password? I can at least see if I can locate them internally. A link to the thread seems like a good place to start with that.

Try the user and password as both 'admin'. I was able to find it on page 44 of the manual (https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/common/networking-x-series-ug_en-us.pdf). In addition, this article was shared with me and it might be useful for you.

Thanks, however the links you posted and for changing the login/password on the switch itself, the Advanced menu password is not connected to the switch password in any way.  I tried the password of admin anyway and still no luck.

That's unfortunate. I understand that it was a longshot, but it was the only password I was able to locate, including after having reached out to some networking resources and looking through our database.
