128 bit encryption

I have a linksys 802.11b router which is capable of 128 bit encryption. It seems my dell inspiron 1150 does not have enough digits for security code to work with the 128. It reqires Approx. 28 digit code but the laptop wont allow me to put that many digits in. I can do 64 bit with no problems. Is there any way to set it up to work with the 128 bit.
Any help would be appreciated.

For security information pertaining to WiFi, check:

What type of card do you have?  If memory serves me correctly here, 128 bit encryption requires 13 pairs of hex code characters (letters A-F, numbers 0 - 9 for combinations like AF, 10, A0 F4, etc etc).  The key in the Wireless Access Point / Router has to match the key in the wireless card in the laptop (kind of obvious, except when you try and mix wireless cards from one brand with access points from other manufacturers)

Try using HEX, instead of passphrase, the card is capable of 128 bit. HEX  A-F  0-9  it has 26 characters

Yhey are different manufacturers so the card might not be capable of using the Linksys software.
